Hospital Tour

Jonathan and I went to Princeton today to the tour of the hospital we will deliver in. It was really exciting and we got to see a little baby in the nursery. We also verified that we will have a private room the ENTIRE time!!! We really aren't sharers so we were thrilled to know we will definitely have our own space for the labor, birth, recovery, and post-care. Where does my issue with sharing come from? All in all, we will probably stay a few days in the hospital. I posted a few pics of the proud parents and our room!

Busy, Busy

It has been a very busy week in the Leyland household!

I am scheduled for another glucose test tomorrow due to a positive test result from my last glucose test. I have to fast overnight and sit in the lab for 3 hours--I am going to go crazy sitting in the blue room!! The good news is that a positive test result on the first test doesn't mean I have gestational diabetes---this is why I am going for a more in-depth test tomorrow. If the blood work turns out negative then I don't have to do much else, if positive then I go to the Endicrinologist to discuss options. For someone that HATES giving blood I am doing a pretty good job so far!!

I am happy to report our house is moving along nicely. Jonathan and I have accomplished so much and we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel!

Our company arrives next Tuesday and we cannot wait! Momma, Sarah, Tooter, Susie, Jackie, and Rick are all coming to PA for a visit. It will be so much fun to be around family and friends from back home. I have been a bit homesick lately, so needless to say I am thrilled!

After spending a few days here, we head to momma's in MA for some Fourth of July fun. We are all going to the Harvard Club in Boston on Saturday for the fireworks and it should be spectacular! Does Don know what he signed up for with this crew!!!

Baby Shower--June 10

What a surprise!!! My best friend at work threw a surprise baby shower for me today and I couldn't believe it--it is really hard to surprise me! Jonathan was in on it too! All of my friends from work were there as well as my friends from my old job at the Intermediate Unit. I had such a great time! I have been feeling homesick for friends and family and this really cheered me up. I am so blessed to have so many great friends. Of course my camera ran out of batteries, but I do have one pic of Joray and Jonathan. Joray made Jonathan his very own Daddy Diaper Duty apron with is name on it!!!

Radio Control Contest in Delaware

Baby Whit went to his first RC contest and his daddy brought home the trophy in Unlimited!!! Here are some pics from the weekend. We had a great time and it was great to see old friends.

Birth Class--June 8, 2009

This is a pic from the first night of birthing class. Needless to say, I am worried we are going to get kicked out!!! The way topics are presented too funny and we can't help from laughing under our breath. Jonathan has been a great sport!

27 weeks

I had another doctor's appointment and it went really well! I took my glucose test and I find out the results in a few days--no news is good news as my doctor likes to say! We go back in three weeks and then after that every two weeks. Needless to say, September will be here before we know it.

Jonathan and I went to birth class on Monday and again we had a hard time controlling the laughter. I told him that we were going to be asked to leave. Some of the things discussed are so corny--we can't help but laugh! Maybe it is the way topics are presented--who knows. At least we have a sense of humor about it and have fun!!!

I am in my last week of work and I cannot wait for summer--the pool is calling my name. Of course I will miss my students and homeroom--we have too much fun!

An Exciting Day!

We just put Baby Whitaker's crib together and it looks fantastic!!! Jonathan did a great job--I was on hand in more of a supervisory role! Amazingly, it was easy to put together! Thanks mommy, Don, and Sarah. Of course there was one small mishap---After putting it together, Blue fell out of the window onto the roof and Jonathan had to go and get him! Both are safely back indoors!
